An antimicrobial is an agent that kills microorganisms or stops their growth. One of the products we supply, is Natamycin, which is a natural anti-fungal that extends the shelf-life of food and beverage products by inhibiting the growth of moulds and yeasts and their toxins, and all this, with miniscule dosage requirements.
Nisin is a natural biological preservative with strong inhibiting activities against Bacillus spp. and spores, and high safety for human consumption, stability under acid conditions and easy water solubility with no influence on the flavour or taste of the end-product.
Nisin is a polypeptide food additive that is extracted from a strain of Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis (non-GMO) by fermentation. Nisin is a bactericide effective against a great number of gram-positive bacteria, especially spore-forming bacteria such as Clostridium botulinum, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes and Bacillus subtilis (not active against gram-negative bacteria, yeast or moulds). Our Nisin products prevent food product spoilage and improve their shelf life.
